A sad day in the Design world
I want to share a short story about the most wonderful designer in the world. Charles Faudree. He passed away on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. He was loved by so many and will be missed. In 2001 I had the pleasure of meeting Charles at his home no less for an Aides Benefit. He decorated 5 houses on his block and it was the most wonderful house tour I have ever been on. He was so surprised that I flew from St. Louis to visit his benefit he made me feel like a celebrity. The attention was over whelming. Charles was the most down to earth and humbled man I had ever met. I remember walking up to his front door almost in shock I was there. Filled with the most wonderful antiques and collection one had ever seen up close and personal. When I used the powder room I stared at the window treatment for 30 minutes. So much to look at I couldn't stay focused. Charles introduced me to his family and all his friends and clients he made me feel like I was the guest of honor. I will never forget how he made me feel and I was truly so fortunate to have met him. He truly made French Country what it is today. Charles touched so many lives with his smile and kind personality. He will be missed and forever loved. Thank you Charles for doing what you did for so many years!
